The Standards

The standards to be achieved by schools and colleges are expressed in terms of pupil and student ages.

The Standards by age 11

For primary schools and middle schools deemed primary.

The Standards by age 16

For secondary schools or colleges and middle schools deemed secondary.

The Standards post-16

Education and training providers to post-16 students may refer to the "Standards by the age 16" section. In addition, assessors would expect post-16 students to be registering on their local electoral registers and post-18 students to be participating in local, national or European elections and referenda.
